About the project

A running relationship with one house: each season, another room. The primary suite came first. The bed wall is one textured panel, lit from behind, with the sconces mounted on it, and across the room a black herringbone wall holds the TV and the fireplace under a floating walnut mantel. The walk-in closet is walnut throughout, with LED strips in the uprights, a poured resin vanity top and a knurled-brass dimmer. Later the powder room went navy and brass, and the media room went dark in reclaimed wood.

What we designed

  • Full-wall headboard panel with hidden LED lighting and mounted sconces
  • Black herringbone fireplace wall with a floating walnut mantel, recessed TV and linear electric fireplace
  • Walnut walk-in closet with lit shelving, a drawer bank and a resin-topped vanity
  • Live-edge shelves and a cubby unit in the reading nook
  • Navy furniture-style powder vanity with marble top
  • Media room in reclaimed wood with a dark beadboard ceiling
